Join us for a presentation on economic development in rural North Carolina, hosted by the NC Rural Center's Director of Advocacy (and Sanford native) John Coggin.
The Rural Center has been working for 30 years with our state's 80 rural counties and focuses its work on small business lending, leadership development, research, and community engagement. Their Rural Counts advocacy program was launched last year to bring together rural champions from across the state in support of public policy issues that are important for all of our communities, but present unique challenges to our rural areas. These areas include education, health care, broadband, infrastructure, and business development.
An overview will be presented of the rural dynamics of these economic development issues, as well as what policies are being currently discussed at the state and federal level to face these challenges and help both our rural and urban areas flourish.
The luncheon will begin at 11:45 am at The Flame Steakhouse. Tickets for this event are on a first come, first serve basis and can be purchased online or by calling the office at 919.775.7341. Tickets are $15 for Chamber Members and $20 for Non-Chamber Members.
