In recognition of May being Mental Health Awareness Month, Let’s Do It Together Foundation is presenting a resilience conference, UNBREAKABLE!, on Saturday, May 17 at Christian Provision Ministries in Sanford. The Conference is designed to help individuals and families in their quest to overcome life challenges and traumas, and to build strategies to grow and adapt in their present-day surroundings. The conference is free to attend and includes lunch and child care. The UNBREAKABLE! Resiliency Conference is a collaboration between the Let’s Do It Together Foundation, the Lee County Partnership For Children And Families, the Lee County Community
Resilience Collaborative and Positive Direction For Youth.The conference keynote speaker Ben David will talk about Developing A Trauma-Informed and Culturally Responsive Community. Mr. David is a former District Attorney of New Hanover County and presently serves as Co-Chair of the Chief Justice’s Task Force on ACEs- Informed
Courts. His work focuses on helping court officials to be more trauma-informed. Other workshop topics include suicide prevention, mentoring, and resilience tools for youth and parents.
